Frequently Asked Questions

Can you cut through metal?

Our laser is not powerful enough to cut through sheet metal, but we can engrave on to it using a special chemical applied to the surface.

We work closely with a couple of organisations that have cut metal for some of our recent projects.

What is the maximum thickness you can cut?

The maximum thickness we can cut depends on the material. Check out the Materials page for more information.

How big is your laser cutter?

That’s a rather personal question, isn’t it?

Our largest laser cutter has a cutting and engraving bed of 1000mm x 600mm, larger than A1 size. The maximum height is 400mm.

Larger objects and materials can fit into the machine through its front loading door. Also, through careful design consideration it may be possible to cut larger parts in several different sections.

How long will my order take?

Once your drawings and designs have been proofed, turn around for small to medium sized orders is usually within 5 working days. If you need something more urgently we offer an express Next Day service for an extra fee.

Which software do you use?

We use Coreldraw 2021 for all of our design work, however we can accept almost all file types.

Can I supply my own materials?

You can, but only if they are compatible with laser cutting. For more detailed information about suitable materials check out our materials page.

How much will it cost?

The cost is very much dependent on how long it takes to cut or engrave which can vary considerably depending on the material and intricacy of the design.  Each quote is tailored to the needs of each individual client.  If you would like a quote, please get in touch.
